Illegal dance bar raided, 64 women rescued in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Central Crime Branch police raided a bar and restaurant in Gandhinagar on Wednesday night for allegedly running a dance bar illegally. Nine persons were detained and 64 women rescued. Police said six persons were running the bar in partnership and three employees had joined hands with them to operate it.

The raid was conducted after police received a tip-off about the goings-on at Mood Bar and Restaurant. The suspects allegedly forced their women attenders to wear sleazy costumes and dance. The suspects would grab the money customers would rain down on the dancers.

Police said the bar owners had not taken the necessary nod from the competent authorities. A sum of Rs 1.3 lakh was seized from the bar. tnn
