Illan Meslier's reaction to his Elland Road debut as Leeds United's clean sheet run continues

Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier hasn't looked out of place since replacing Kiko Casilla .

The 19-year-old has earned back-to-back clean sheets since his introduction to the first team.

Last weekend was a dream debut in the Championship for the on-loan 'keeper as United smashed Hull City 4-0.

On Saturday, his first appearance at Elland Road went off without a hitch too as Leeds moved top of the Championship by beating Huddersfield Town 2-0, a fifth-consecutive league win.

With West Brom and Fulham both dropping points, it turned out to be the perfect weekend for United as they strengthened their grip on the automatic promotion places.

With Casilla absent for eight matches, the pressure is on for Meslier to come in and fill the boots of the former Real Madrid man.

However, Meslier has barely been a talking point, such have been the low-key, yet assured nature of his performances.

He has proved to be a reassuring presence to the Leeds backline, a defence that has now kept five clean sheets on the bounce, after conceding seven goals in the five games prior to this run.

Meslier too was delighted to make his Elland Road debut, posting on Twitter after the West Yorkshire derby win.

He wrote: "Important win today for my debut home Thank you to all the supporters."

Next up for Leeds is a trip to Cardiff City before a decisive-looking home clash against Fulham.
