Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Friday, July 24.
Meslier on Premier League uncertainty
Illan Meslier is ready to be Leeds United’s Premier League number one after signing permanently, but remains in the dark on Marcelo Bielsa’s plans for him.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper was thrust into first-team action on February 29 after Kiko Casilla was banned for eight matches following allegations of racist language.
Despite spending much of the 2019/20 campaign on the bench and with the under-23s, Meslier shone during the run-in, conceding four goals in 10 matches.
United will pay Lorient around £5m for Meslier, who, after signing a three-year contract at Elland Road, said he was unsure about his Premier League chances.

Cavani contact
Leeds have been in touch with Edinson Cavani to offer him a deal to join them on a free transfer this summer.
That is according to ESPN, who also claim the Uruguayan is willing to listen to the proposal from Bielsa’s side.
The 33-year-old forward was released after finishing his contract on June 30 with Paris Saint-Germain and has been linked with a host of European clubs.
Corberan departs for Huddersfield Town
Carlos Corberan is Huddersfield Town’s new head coach and leaves Leeds nearly three years to the day since he arrived.
The 37-year-old has finally agreed to terms with the Terriers more than one month after their initial approach to take their top job.
Corberan was offered significantly more money at The John Smith’s Stadium and a chance to take, by far, the most senior and high profile role of his career.
