Ilkay Gundogan highlights the one difference between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has revealed Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp are extremely similar, both demanding 100 per cent from their players during training sessions, but Klopp may be slightly scarier.

The German midfielder was a key player under Klopp during his time at Borussia Dortmund, helping BVB lift the Bundesliga title ahead of Bayern Munich and reach the Champions League final.

Gundogan moved to City in 2016 with Guardiola eager to link up with the 28-year-old at the Etihad Stadium.

Both City and Liverpool are going head to head for the Premier League title again this season after being unrivalled in the league last year.

The Germany international has revealed the two bosses are extremely similar in their training methods.

"And then there are the two coaches who stand for the two different styles that are currently on the market," he told SZ via Sport Witness.

"They live full intensity, are incredibly demanding; you can not switch off for a second in training.

"Otherwise, there’s a b********g.

Gundogan admitted that the current Liverpool boss may be a bit scarier to deal with.

He added: "You may be a little bit more scared of Klopp because he’s so big and loud and shows so many teeth."
