Two teenage boys were injured after being stabbed when a mass brawl broke out in east London.

Witnesses said up to 25 boys were seen fighting outside a chicken shop in Beehive Lane, Ilford, after school yesterday afternoon.

Two boys — aged 14 and 16 — were knifed in the fight and were taken to hospital. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Nurul Chowdhury, who works at Zing chicken shop, said: “You couldn’t see who was hitting who as there was about 25 boys.

“They started shouting ‘there’s blood’ and one boy was on the floor and bleeding. It looked really serious.”

A 20-year-old man remained in custody this morning on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
