IKEA’s latest PS Collection has arrived, bringing 44 boldly playful pieces that prove practical design doesn’t have to take itself too seriously. Since launching in 1995, the PS Collection has served as a creative testing ground for experimental ideas — and for 2026, the designers have fully embraced that spirit.
The 10th Collection is an exciting lineup that centers on ‘Playful Functionality’. Twelve designers were invited to explore “excitement in simplicity and design in its purest form”, creating objects where everyday usefulness meets unexpected moments of fun.
From reimagined furniture to quirky accessories guaranteed to raise a smile, the collection balances Scandinavian minimalism with a mischievous edge. Previously available exclusively in store, the full range can now be shopped online — leaving design fans with one challenge: deciding what to buy first.
What caught my eye
There’s a playful rocking bench that moves side to side, an adjustable stool that climbs using a ratchet mechanism, or how about the circular tiered storage solution on wheels that resembles a posh cake stand. There’s even a funky bright green inflatable chair.
But there’s one item that particularly caught my attention, and it will fit perfectly into my home. I was instantly drawn to the playful glass vase, designed by Maria Vinka.
It’s one of three vases in the collection by Vinka, all of which take a curvaceous form with cute round shapes and protruding ears. My favorite is made of white, green and pink hand-blown glass that retails for $19 at Ikea.
Although it’s small in stature, measuring only 6 (H) x 5½ (W) inches, it’s brimming with personality. I can see myself using it to display cut flowers from my garden or to store pens on my desk.
If you’d prefer a larger vase but still like the style, Vinka has designed a blue-and-green version measuring 15 (H) x 8¾ (W) inches, available for $49 at IKEA. Alternatively, you might prefer the shorter but chunkier green-and-white vase, measuring 8¾ (H) x 4¼ (W), for $39 at IKEA.
