Ikea will help you recreate iconic Friends and The Simpsons living rooms at home

If you didn't already totally love Ikea, you certainly will after reading this.

That's because the bargain furniture store is offering customers the chance to do something very exciting as part of their Real Life series - they'll help you recreate an iconic TV living room in your very own home.

Ikea have scoured their catalogues and stores, looking at thousands of products to find those which closest match the furniture and accessories from the sets of popular television shows - including Friends and The Simpsons.

The only downside is that the campaign has been launched in the UAE, so you might have to spend a bit of time finding the items advertised in your own local Ikea, or pay for shipping.

The series starts with a room for mates, which is inspired by the popular 90s sitcom, Friends.

Fans can feel like part of the gang by turning their living room into Monica and Rachel's purple apartment.

All you need to do is start with a splash of paint then pick up some stylish essentials, such as a beige sofa, wooden coffee table, cream curtains and some funky patterned cushions.

Once it's all done you'll just have to invite five other people over for coffee and you'll feel like you're in the show in no time.

The Swedish company also created a room that looks just as bright and bizarre as the Simpson's cartoon living room.

With a brown sofa, circular rug and a wonky framed boat photo on the wall, the decor is instantly recognisable.

Ikea does point out that a few items may need to be painted in order to get the full effect though.

And the final room is inspired by Netflix's 80s show, Stranger Things.

Designed to look like Joyce's quirky living room, the recreation features a sofa with a stripy cover, fairy lights on the wall, a cluttered coffee table and a couple of arm chairs to sit on.
