Around 300 people queued to shop at the Swedish homeware store in Straiton, Edinburgh.

The shop has a capacity of 450 people - a quarter of how many shoppers it can usually accommodate.

Large crowds also gathered outside the Glasgow branch in the pouring rain desperate to shop in the homeware department.

Stewards in high-vis yellow jackets were on hand to make sure people obeyed the rules. Shops down south opened on June 1.

IKEA stores in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen all opened today.

It comes after sausage roll fans rejoiced as Greggs has announced that 70 Scots branches would open their doors once again.
