IKEA speaks out on when it plans to reopen stores after closing due to coronavirus

IKEA is the latest retailer to speak out on the future of its stores and address speculation around its reopenings.

Its UK stores have remained closed since Friday, March 20 due to the on-going risk of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, with stores such as B&Q, Homebase and Wickes all reopening recently, many shoppers have been left wondering what this means for IKEA.

With a bank holiday coming up this week, usually shoppers would rush to IKEA to stock up on new items for their home, but unfortunately it looks like fans will have a little while to wait until they can do this again.

To clear things up, an IKEA spokesperson has now confirmed despite speculation its stores would remain closed "until further notice", reports BristolLive.

An IKEA spokesperson said: " For now, all stores across the UK and Ireland remain closed until further notice.

"We continue to monitor the situation closely and look forward to welcoming customers back to our stores in the future, in line with government guidance.

"While our stores remain closed, customers can shop our full range online."
