Ikea shoppers hail money-saving book shelf hack using common kitchen item

If you are looking to save money but also need to decorate your kids' bedroom, there may be a way you can do so and save money at the same time.

And all whilst using an item that is usually found in the kitchen storing your spices.

Yes, all you need is a spice rack and some time to secure it to the wall.

Posting to Facebook's private group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one shopper snapped a picture of her children's' room and provided a handy trick in a bid to save some money.

She captioned her post: "Don’t waste money with fancy book shelves. IKEA spice racks do the job. £4.50!"

This idea is perfect for anyone on a budget as well as those who may not have a lot of space to play with because instead of letting a bookcase take up floor space, you can instead attach these to the wall.

And it seems other were loving the money-saving the idea with others already doing it and many hailing it as 'genius'.

One said: "Works well for marvel characters too!" with a picture of their kids action figures on the shelf.
