IKEA has designed an entirely new range of kitchen storage, named CHOKLADHAJ, which takes the simplicity and eco-friendliness of pine wood and brings a new way to declutter your countertops — or even pantry shelves — for good.
If you're fed up with rooting through your fruit bowl to find what you need, or you've recently discovered that onions and potatoes shouldn't be stored together, then these storage boxes have come at a good time.
The CHOKLADHAJ Food Storage Box comes as a set of two for $14.99. It makes a genius way to store groceries that don't need refrigerating. Arriving as a pair, these boxes are stackable, depending on where they'll fit, and they're compact enough that you could even hide them in a drawer. They've immediately doubled the food storage space in my small kitchen, too.
Why we love IKEA’s CHOKLADHAJ food storage boxes

Organize your often-reached-for fruit and vegetables, from your onions to your garlic, and separate your apples from your pears for your own convenience. You can even use these in your pantry for an affordable glow-up — you'll thank us come hosting season, when you'll be able to find just what you need when you need it!
Not only are these eco-friendly food storage boxes (made from durable solid wood), but their open design will allow your food to breathe. And remember: you don't have to stack them! If you choose not to, you'll be able to fit taller items in the larger of the two boxes, too.
Already nailed your storage solution for fruit and vegetables? Here are some other items shoppers have stored in these handy stackable boxes:
- K-Cup coffee pods (or any coffee pods!)
- Protein bars
- Medicine
- Play Doh
- Pens
- Salad dressings/oils
- Spices
How will I use IKEA’s CHOKLADHAJ food storage boxes?
My pantry is currently a total mess. The storage baskets have are all mismatched, and grabbing something off the shelf sometimes results in having to dodge a falling potato (or two).
These boxes are the perfect size for my pantry shelves, and although they won't fit stacked atop one another, they'll be great for keeping my garlic separate from my onions and my potatoes away from my apples.
I also plan on using two of these on my kitchen worktop, nestled in a corner. I plan to use them to replace my current fruit bowl.
