IKEA’s Sleek Scandi Cookware Proves You Don’t Have to Spend Big to Cook in Style – And Now You Can Save 20% Until Sunday

Turquoise pan with wood handles, on induction stovetop.

Any home chef will tell you that a passion for cooking comes with a passion for pans, utensils, and high-tech appliances. Yet since the best cookware doesn't come cheap, I've been hunting for budget-friendly options that I can really count on – and I think I've found a winner with IKEA's chic Klippfisk cookware, which is currently 20% off.

The range includes the deep blue Klippfisk saucepan with a lid, alongside the larger Klippfisk pot with a lid and the gray-blue Klippfisk frying pan. The hero piece, however, is the Klippfisk turquoise sauté pan, which has a similar aesthetic to the viral Always Pan.

Yes, if you've been eyeing up the Our Place non-toxic, 10-in-1 pan Always Pan (which, if you're wondering, is also on sale right now), you might want to check out IKEA's Klippfisk sauté pan, too. It works on all cooktops, boasts a ceramic non-stick coating – which is a big selling point for anyone looking for the best non-toxic cookware – and it's just $27.99 right now.

'IKEA’s Klippfisk sauté pan reminds me of designs I’ve tested from more premium brands,' says our Kitchen Appliances Editor, Lydia Hayman. 'It’s particularly similar to the new Our Place Essential Collection, with helper handles, rounded edges (very practical for simmering saucy dishes, from curries to pastas), and a glass lid that lets you keep an eye on your ingredients as they cook.'

It might be a notably budget-friendly option, but the Klippfisk sauté pan also boasts a particularly impressive design. 'It features an aluminum core, which heats up quickly, along with a sol-gel ceramic coating for reliable non-stick performance,' explains Lydia. 'This is especially useful when cooking delicate ingredients such as tofu cubes or halloumi, and it’s a welcome bonus for health-conscious cooks who prefer to use less oil.'

The Klippfisk sauté pan also has two spouts for easy pouring, and the wooden handles make for fuss-free handling – plus, they're so stylish, too.

In fact, the entire Klippfisk range is undeniably chic, whether you lean towards cool gray-blue tones, elegant turquoise hues, or classic inky blues (which, to me, are always reminiscent of heritage pieces like the Le Creuset braiser in the gorgeous Nuit colorway at Crate & Barrel). The wood accents also double down on IKEA's signature Scandi style – with added practicality thanks to silicone rims on each of the pan lids.

If you're looking to give your cookware a refresh for the New Year (without breaking the bank), I'd say these IKEA pieces are a great choice. The best non-stick frying pans and stock pots often require a hefty investment, so I'm always impressed by affordable options like these – though it's good to bear in mind that they're not quite as durable as more premium pans.

'My advice: designs like this are beautiful, but probably won’t last more than a couple of years in your kitchen,' says Lydia. 'So, be sure to use wooden or silicone utensils to help the pan perform at its best for as long as possible. And if you're looking for a pan that can last decades in the kitchen but costs under $30, direct your attention to a Lodge Cast Iron Chef Collection Skillet.' I'm not sure I can resist the sleek look, and if it convinces me to cook more from scratch in the new year, I'm all for it – at such good prices, you can't go too far wrong.
