IKEA’s $17 dish rack is perfect for small kitchens — here’s why I’ll be picking one up

IKEA hultarp dish drainer.

As much as I can’t live without my dishwasher, having a good dish drainer for those delicate items comes in handy. But since I have a compact kitchen (and a love for aesthetics), I’ve always struggled to find a suitable size that won’t clutter up my countertop space.

That’s why I was so excited to learn of IKEA’s dish drainer, which is perfect for small spaces. The IKEA HULTARP Dish drainer can be placed by the sink or wall-mounted, to free up valuable worktop space underneath.

What’s more, it’s just $17, making this a great bargain to pick up — just in time for hosting festive gatherings.

Why I love the IKEA HULTARP Dish drainer

If you're looking for clever ways to double your space in a small kitchen, this dish drainer is a great trick. Firstly, its design allows it to be wall-mounted, which gives you extra storage space underneath. Bear in mind, you do need to have a sturdy wall, and this works well hanging just below a cabinet.

Failing that, its 15 x14 inch size means it can fit into small spaces with ease, and without looking like an eyesore. Despite its size, it still has a decent capacity for your essentials, and has a removable tray underneath to collect water from the drainer.

What’s more, it has a modern, steel black finish that is easy to maintain, but is versatile enough to make an impression in your utility room. It’s hard to believe that it's just $17, which is a small price to pay for buying you extra countertop space.

Also, if you love cooking with fresh herbs, IKEA released a new $6 fridge storage essential that will help herbs last so much longer.
