Ikea reveal secret signature meatball recipe for foodies during coronavirus outbreak

With much of the world urged to stay-at-home during the coronavirus outbreak, Ikea have stepped up to the plate...quite literally.

The Swedish furniture giant has revealed the secret recipe behind its iconic Swede meatballs - and it's a game-changer.

With its stores shut across the country to curb the spread of COVID-19, Ikea fans have been missing their meatball fix, signature to its cafes and stores.

But the secret recipe has now been shared online for foodies across the country.

Serving up to four people, the meatballs are made using beef mince, pork mince, a clove of garlic and egg, as well as milk, generous seasoning (salt and pepper) and a finely chopped onion.

The method will be familiar with Ikea shoppers, laid out much like the store's signature flat pack furniture instructions.

The Swedish company has also shared details of its iconic cream sauce, which requires plain flour, beef stock, vegetable stock, a dash of oil, butter, double cream, soy sauce and Dijon mustard, reports Edinburgh Live's sister site Birmingham Live.
