IKEA recalling thousands of bibs and is urging customers to send them back immediately

IKEA is urgently recalling bibs after fears it could cause children to choke.

Parents are being told to stop using the items and return them immediately.

IKEA operates multiple stores across the UK including Giltbrook Shopping Park and the Swedish furniture giant is a go-to for many families looking for homeware, reports BirminghamLive.

Now, the much-loved brand has urged shoppers to return items affected by its latest product recall.

Parents have been warned to check if they've got a set of two bibs from Ikea.

Affected bibs are part of IKEA's MATRVA range and come in a two-pack.

One is a blue bib with green lining around the edge and one is a red bib with yellow lining.

They have a product article number of 504.269.20.

The bibs were sold both in-store and online during August for £2.50.

3,796 were sold in the UK, the chain has also added.

For more information, you can contact IKEA on 0203 645 0010.

In a statement on its website it said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding."

IKEA says everybody returning the item will be given a full refund - and you don't need proof of purchase.
