IKEA are asking customers to return bowls, plates and mugs after recalls due to risks of breaks and burns.
Fears that the product ranges “HEROISK” and “TALRIKA” could become brittle and break, causing burns from hot food and drinks.
So far, IKEA has had 123 reports of breakage and four reports of injury. Customers who bought the kitchenware between August 2019 and May 2021 could be at risk.
The colourful crockery has been withdrawn from sale and customers are being asked to return items to IKEA for a full refund.
The products being recalled were sold in sets of two or four. With affected products having supplier number 23348 and the text “Made in Taiwan” on the underside.

Two-pack HEROISK products,
- Bowl in green/yellow
- 25cl Mug in red/yellow
- Three compartment plate in red/green
- Side plate in blue/red
Four-pack TALRIKA products,
- Bowl in white/red
- Deep plate in green
- 25cl Mug in red
- Side plate in dark blue
The latest IKEA recalls can be found on their website including recalls on a travel mug, baby bib, desks and a ceiling lamp.
