IKEA opening and closing times for Queen's Platinum Jubilee bank holiday

Marking the Queen's 70 years as monarch of the UK and Commonwealth, thousands of events are set to take place over a four-day bank holiday weekend from June 2-5.

Many will be attending street parties, beacon-lighting ceremonies and lining the streets during Trooping the Colour, while over 100,000 could attend the Platinum Party at the Palace.

As a Jubilee gesture of goodwill, pubs will close two hours later at 1am, some supermarket staff have been given an extra day off and other household name companies are releasing special commemorative products or lines for the event.

From elegant dinnerware to vibrant decorations, Swedish home furnishings giant IKEA is offering a range of Jubilee products destined for the famous blue FRAKTA bags.

IKEA now has 22 outlets in the UK, after opening its first shop in Warrington back in 1987. In a recent survey, it found 60 percent of Brits own an IKEA product, while IKEA.com had five billion online visitors last year.

It appears as though IKEA is following what other major retailers are doing - reducing its opening hours only slightly while keeping every single one of their outlets open.

So, to avoid a wasted trip to a Scandi-homeware superstore, we've got IKEA's Platinum Jubilee weekend openings times.

IKEA is to replicate its usual bank holiday opening and closing times, seeing doors open at 10am as usual but closing an hour or more earlier than normal at some stores.

Most outlets in the UK are open from 10am and close at 9pm or even 10pm, while on Sundays doors can close as early as 4:30pm.

To be absolutely certain before leaving the house, you can check each IKEA outlet's opening and closing times here.

If you're hungry for IKEA's famous renowned meatballs, food hall hours normally follow an outlet's normal business times.
