Ikea has shared instructions on how to build furniture forts at home

Furniture giant Ikea has shared brilliant instructions to built furniture forts at home.

With six different forts suggested by the Swedish brand, it's yet another way to try and keep the kids entertained on lockdown.

The designs include Wigwåm, Cåve, Förtress and Höuse and each is made using items such as dining tables, sofa cushions and lamps.

Each fort comes with its own set of assembly instructions in Ikea's recognisable style.

You don't actually need to own Ikea furniture (Ikea)

Although the guids feature Ikea items, most of us should have the right tools laying around at home.

The Cåstle, for example, involves draping a large sheet over four chairs, pinned in place with clothes pegs. You can then chuck in a floor lamp to give it a bit more height.

The Fortress looks particularly snug (Ikea)

The Förtress looks particularly snug, involving a lot of sofa cushions, blankets, and even a duvet.

Ikea Russia worked with creative agency Instinct on the project, noting the fort building should ony be undertaken with adult supervision.

It's now encouraging families to share their creations on social media using the hashtag #явдомикеикеа, which apparently loosely translates as 'I’m in an IKEA house'.

It might be aimed at children, but we know a fair few adults who'd be very on board with such a pillow fort on a rainy day.
