Ikea confirms full list of stores reopening on June 1

After closing its doors to shoppers at the start of lockdown, Ikea has confirmed that it has taken the decision to reopen 19 of its UK stores on June 1.

The homeware giant follows in the footsteps of stores like Dunelm and Matalan, which have been able to open due to new government guidelines now classing them as 'essential' retailers as a result of their homeware sections.

Ikea has said that the 19 Ikea sites reopening from 1 June are:

  • Croydon
  • Greenwich
  • Lakeside
  • Wembley
  • Tottenham
  • Norwich collection point
  • Birmingham
  • Nottingham
  • Belfast
  • Manchester
  • Warrington
  • Gateshead
  • Leeds
  • Sheffield
  • Milton Keynes
  • Reading
  • Southampton
  • Bristol
  • Exeter

Restaurants and play areas will remain closed but the food market will reopen for customers to make food like Swedish meatballs at home, the retailer added.
