IKEA confirms delivery information for those who want to beat the queues

IKEA today opened up a selection of their stores across England and Northern Ireland with new safety measures put in place for customers.

Furniture retailers had fallen under the government parameters of what is deemed 'essential', but had made a personal choice to push back their reopening date.

Ahead of 'non-essential' retailers opening up again in mid-June, IKEA have now made the decision to open up many of their stores - and this morning has seen an unprecedented demand.

However, a surge of customers has seen queues of up to two hours in some stores - in part due to unprecedented demand, but also as a result of IKEA's strict limit on how many individual are allowed inside at any given time.

To alleviate waits, IKEA are urging many to stay away and instead make use of their online store and delivery services.

Below you'll find a list of all of the deliver options IKEA offer. You can browse IKEA's range online.

Small Deliveries

IKEA use DPD's delivery service between Monday and Sunday with costs between £3.95 and £19.95 depending on the size of the order.

Larger Deliveries

Larger orders that require two delivery drivers and that IKEA deem unsuitable for package delivery cost £29 .

Further information on this can be found on their FAQ page.

Express Deliveries

If you're in a rush to get hold of items, IKEA also offer an Express Delivery service that £49 and sees goods delivered to your door between 1-2 days.
