IKEA Bristol opens today - what you need to know

Furniture giant IKEA is reopening its Bristol branch today (June 1) alongside 19 other branches across England.

Flat-pack furniture lovers will be able to browse the Eastgate store with a number of social distancing measures in place.

The openings come as a number of lockdown restrictions are eased across England today.

When is IKEA Bristol reopening?

The Bristol store will reopen to customers at 10am today (June 1).

What social distancing measures will be in place to keep shoppers safe?

'Social distancing wardens' will be patrolling the stores, and the number of customers allowed inside will be limited.

Restaurants and play areas will remain closed but the food market will reopen for customers to make food like Swedish meatballs at home, the retailer added.

It had previously been reported that IKEA would be reopening its shops on May 18, but that did not happen.

All 22 branches were closed when the UK went into lockdown at the end of March.
