BHUBANESWAR: The Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, has decided to hold the final semester examinations of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students between April 28 and May 10. The institution has taken all necessary steps to complete the courses in time before holding the final examinations.
Except for first year BTech students, the end-semester of other students will be completed within the scheduled timeline. Classes commenced for these BTech and dual degree, MTech, MSc and PhD students on January 3. Their mid-semester examination was completed by March 3. The last date for instruction classes for these students is April 26.
The last counselling of the first-year BTech students ended on November 19 last year. IIT Bhubaneswar admitted these students on November 25. Thus, the academic calendar for the first-year BTech students was delayed compared to the others, official sources said.
Second semester classes of first-year BTech students commenced on March 14. Mid-semester examinations will start from April 28 and continue until May 2. The last date for instruction classes of these students is June 17. End-semester examination of the first-year students will begin on June 20 and continue till June 23.
IIT Bhubaneswar director R V Raja Kumar said the institution has not compromised on education during the pandemic and the lessons were taught on time despite the pandemic. The duration of a semester was retained. Full examinations have been conducted and hands-on laboratory classes were also conducted by bringing the students to the campus in between the waves of Covid, he added. Offline classes commenced at IIT Bhubaneswar in last September.
