VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam signed a memorandum of understanding with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to strengthen the academia-industry interface and relationship between the two major public sector institutions.
As part of the MoU, IIM-V will offer short-term and long-term programmes to the HPCL officers for helping them hone their management and leadership skills. Surveys and studies will be conducted by IIM-V suiting the requirement of HPCL for assignments such as employee-engagement, training needs analysis, etc. MBA students of IIM-V will be provided with industry exposure and industrial-training opportunities by the HPCL.
Speaking on this occasion, IIM-V director Prof M Chandrasekhar explained how the MoU would establish a strong relationship between HPCL and IIM-V.
Director (HR), HPCL, Dr Pushp Kumar Joshi who attended the programme as the chief guest, said; "As part of the collaborative endeavour, the senior executives of HPCL and faculty in IIM-V will work together to strengthen the multi-faceted academia-industry relationship and contribute to the field of action research."
