Igor Sosin: Russian billionaire's son Yegor Sosin accused of strangling his mother to death

The son of a Russian oligarch has been accused of strangling his mother to death in a hotel room, while under the influence of drugs.

Yegor Sosin, the son of Igor Sosin a retail entrepreneur, reportedly killed Anastasia Sosina-Novikova after they had attended a talk on the importance of family.

The 19-year-old was arrested after staff at the Koston Royal Hotel in Kazan, Russia alerted police when they heard loud noises coming from their room.

A guest at the hotel also reported seeing the son walking around covered in blood.

Officers found Ms Sosina-Novikova’s dead body on the bed and her son, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, in the room.

The Mirror reported that according to Russian media, Ms Sosina-Novikova had been strangled by the wire of a charger.

The pair were attending the Family Constellations and Cosmic Power workshop run by German psychotherapist, Bert Hellinger.

In a police interview, Sosin reportedly said: “I met with mother for some kind of treatment procedures, mother gave me some pills.

“And later in the apartment – that is, our hotel – some strange things started happening, hallucinations, as I see it now,” according to the IBTimes.

Ms Sosina-Novikova is divorced from Mr Sosin, the owner of a number of stores that sell construction and renovation materials.
