Iggy Azalea suffers suspected slipped disc during tour with Sean Paul and Pitbull

Iggy Azalea has been left with a slipped disc after injuring herself during her American tour.

The Australian had been complaining of neck pains in recent times, which led her to seeking treatment for the ongoing issue earlier this week.

And after a performance in Michigan on Wednesday [September 28] the 32-year-old rapper took to Twitter to respond to a fan who asked after her health.

"I'm great!" she said. "On my way to get an MRI for my back & neck so I'm happy about that!"

She later added: "Should be fine they think I have a slipped disk [sic] in my back.

"I've performed 36 shows with it but I'd love to recover so I can wear high heels again on stage."

Fans were quick to respond to the star to wish her well with one writing: "Oh wow! Please get healed so you can come back 100%. I hope you feel better. You're a true performer to do 36 shows with a slipped disk! We love you."

Another commented: "Oh heck! Wishing you a speedy recovery. You're a hardworking performer who will do her best anytime!"

A third added: "My goodness Iggy this is serious... you could get seriously injured out there... all money is not good money."

And a fourth said: "You are such a fighter. Hopefully you get time for R&R soon."

Iggy, real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly, is currently touring with singers Sean Paul and Pitbull and is due to perform again in Bakersfield, California on Thursday night [September 29].

It is unclear at present, however, if she will be fit enough to continue.

In July last the star announced she was quitting music "for a few years" to "focus on other creative projects".

However, her hiatus ended prematurely last month when she revealed news of a surprise comeback on Twitter.

"I'm coming back. Cry about it," she wrote.

"A year ago I was willing to walk away from music because I was tired of the negative energy it attracted.

"But what I've learned is that even when I'm minding my business, y'all gonna be negative AND nosey.

"So if I can't have peace, neither can you. I'm coming back. Cry about it."
