Iggy Azalea slams YouTube after it refuses to promote her raunchy new music video

Iggy Azalea has revealed that she was 'disappointed' amid claims that YouTube was not promoting the music video to her latest track, Sip It.

The 30-year-old music sensation took to Twitter earlier this week to express her dismay, admitting that as an independent artist she was depending on the support of such platforms.

She also claimed that she was originally given the green light by YouTube for the raunchy clip and was told there were 'no issues'.

The mum of one wrote: "So @YouTube won’t recommend my video or add it to trending because of the “content in the video” I’ve waited 48 hours and still can’t get a real answer from anyone at YouTube about why they have far more controversial videos in their trending list as week speak."

"I’m really disappointed because I’m indie and I depend on things like that for streaming," the rapper continued.

"I sent my video in to their staff a week prior and they told me it was perfect, no issues. I don’t really feel like it’s fair, and I really wish someone at @youtube would resolve it."

A representative for YouTube has been approached by The Mirror for comment.

The steamy clip in question features Iggy modelling a sheer bodysuit while twerking alongside a host of strippers who then go on to perform lap dances.

Some fans have already likened the lyrics of the tune to Cardi B's popular hit, WAP.

Six days after the video was dropped on the platform, the video has now amassed over 4 million views on YouTube.

In recent days, Iggy - real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly - also caused a storm when she leaked her Instagram DMs in a jaw-dropping TikTok clip.

In the post, Iggy revealed a host of verified Instagram profiles with millions of followers had slid into her DMs and left some very explicit messages.

While Iggy was careful to keep the identities of the mystery profiles hidden, she encouraged the profiles to stay out of her messages.

Fans of the artist couldn't get enough of the expose and immediately got to work trying to decipher who the profiles belonged to.
