Iggy Azalea shares 'before and after' photos of herself from magazine to show fans 'what was up'

Iggy Azalea has accused a magazine of Photoshopping a picture of her to make her thighs and hips appear slimmer.

The rapper is featured on the cover of Schön magazine, a British fashion magazine.

But when a fan asked about the cover, Azalea said she loved the images but preferred the seemingly "untouched" version.

Sharing two contrasting images, she wrote: “Love it, but I much prefer the picture before they photoshopped my thighs and hips to seem skinnier”.

Like a number of high-profile women speaking out against photoshopping, the 25-year-old was keen to stress that she is happy with her body the way it is, telling her fans: “I like being 155 pounds”. However, she said she didn’t want to be “rude” to the magazine and enjoyed working with them.

“I don’t want to make some thing of me bashing a magazine of making trouble. I showed you guys what was up and that’s it,” she told a fan.

Earlier this month, Lena Dunham was forced to backtrack after she accused Spanish magazine El Pais of editing images of her. The magazine responded saying they never alter their photos and Dunham apologised to the magazine.

In an essay for her Lenny newsletter she explained she has been photoshopped so much over the years she is unable to recognise her own body.

“I don’t recognise my own f**king body anymore. And that’s a problem […] This body is the only one I have. I love it for what it’s given me. I hate it for what it’s denied me. And now, without further ado, I want to be able to pick my own thigh out of a lineup.”

The Independent has contacted Schön for comment.
