Iga Swiatek, the world number one, secured the WTA 'Player of the Year' award for the second consecutive season, as announced by the governing body of women's tennis.
Swiatek's remarkable year included winning the French Open for the third time, bringing her Grand Slam count to four. She concluded the season by clinching her first WTA Finals title and reclaiming the top spot in the rankings, briefly lost to Aryna Sabalenka.
The 22-year-old Pole, who earned six titles during the tour, became the first player to achieve the WTA Player of the Year honour in consecutive seasons since Serena Williams accomplished it from 2012 to 2015.
'Doubles Team of the Year' went to Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens, while China's Zheng Qinwen received the 'Most Improved Player' award, and Russian Mirra Andreeva was named 'Newcomer of the Year'.
Elina Svitolina, who made a comeback to tennis in April after a maternity break, earned the 'Comeback Player of the Year' title. Svitolina reached the Roland Garros quarter-finals and matched her best Grand Slam result by reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals.
