It takes a special type of person to hold completing one of the world's toughest hard enduro races as one of their confirmed bucket list items. Even more than that, though; it takes a truly singular type of person to actively work toward getting that job done.
Especially if they try it once and don't end up succeeding.
A lot of people might not even have made it to the start line that first time, but quite a few more would throw in the towel and not look back if they didn't ace it on the first try. That's just human nature.
In 2025, it marked the second stab at completing the Red Bull Romaniacs Bronze Class for Tudor, the guy behind the YouTube channel KRANKiT. And this time, he managed to fight his way through to finish all three days, even though it was as tough (and maybe tougher) than you might expect.
This isn't a short video, and it also isn't all onboard footage with no context or additional information given. While some of it is voiceover that was added in post, there's what almost seems like a surprising amount of narration given while he's clearly in the middle of competing.
And honestly, if you've never tried to babble to yourself (or your action cam) in your helmet while riding, then it might not seem terribly difficult to you. I'm not and haven't been a hard enduro rider, but for me, the idea of trying to form coherent thoughts while I'm out on paved roads can be challenging if I'm in a new place. So I can only imagine how tough it must be if you're on completely unfamiliar terrain, and just trying to make it through some of the more daunting stuff he encounters in this video.
The footage is mesmerizing, particularly as you see him start to get into the flow of each day. There are probably a few things we can learn from this, too, even if you or I aren't going to line up to do a hard enduro race this year (or maybe ever).
One is this: Keeping moving forward, even if it's tough terrain and you're going slow, is often a better option than losing all your momentum by coming to a complete stop.
Another is that if you see someone ahead of you having a tough time, doesn't it make more sense to combine your efforts and help them out, rather than stand back silently and watch them struggle? Something something rising tide lifts all boats, something something? Then you both get to the finish line, and if your goal in the first place wasn't to win but to simply finish, I don't know why you wouldn't go this route.
Red Bull Romaniacs is a test of a rider's physical and mental strength, coping skills (see the part of the video where there's a whole lot of stress-relieving screaming inside the safe confines of the helmet), and of course whatever bike you're using to attempt event completion. There's a whole lot here that has to go right, and it's not guaranteed for anyone who participates.
But if you make it to the end, what an impressive achievement. It's truly something to be proud of, even if your wrists might not speak to you for a few days after.
