If you're buying Sam Fender arena tour tickets you must attend show to get friends in

Tickets for Sam Fender's 2020 tour are expected to be in demand so measures are in place to try and stop touts ripping fans off.

Sam, 25, announced a spring 2020 arena tour, finishing off with a gig at Newcastle Arena on Friday April 3.

He will also perform at London's Alexandra Palace on the tour, as well as dates in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Leicester.

Tickets go on sale this week, and general sale from Thursday.

With Sam's debut LP, Hypersonic Missiles sat at number on in the album charts, there will almost certainly be touts looking to cash in on demand, by buying up the £27.50 tickets and selling them online at inflated prices.

Fans who miss out on tickets would be wise to avoid touts, as they may be stopped from entering the arena if they have bought a second-hand ticket. That is because the tickets will have the name of the 'lead booker' (the person who paid for them) printed on the tickets. The lead booker must attend the show with whoever they have bought tickets for, to guarantee entry.

If you are buying Sam Fender tickets for someone else, make sure you know the rules

The person who books the tickets must attend the show. Their name will be printed on their ticket, and the tickets they have bought for their party.

So if you are buying on behalf of somebody else, book in their name, as they may be asked to present photo ID at the venue to prove they bought their tickets officially.

The name can not be changed once the tickets are bought.

The terms and conditions say: "THE NAME OF THE LEAD BOOKER WILL BE PRINTED ON ALL TICKETS THEY PURCHASE; THIS PERSON MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE AT THE CONCERT.

"The name cannot be changed once the purchase has been made.

"When the lead booker attends the show they will be asked to present matching PHOTO ID to gain entry to the venue. IF THE ID DOES NOT MATCH ENTRY WILL BE REFUSED.

"The ticket purchaser must enter the concert accompanied by all their guests. Guests will not be allowed entry without the lead booker present and ID matching the name on the tickets."
