If You Love This EV Motorcycle's Style, You Can Finally Have It and Bring a Friend

It's hard not to appreciate what UK EV motorcycle startup Maeving has done so far. It's a small company, but it seems to be doing a lot of things right.

Like what, you might ask? Instead of just having a sleek design to get our attention, Maeving is making a point of having test rides available in the UK, Europe, and the US, so actual riders can give them a try. That's an important thing for new, boutique manufacturers to do, particularly if they want to earn the trust of potential customers. In a segment that's been rife with fly-by-night companies that vanish overnight, Maeving is working hard to reassure customers that, although they're small, they're the real deal.

Now, to be clear, RideApart hasn't ridden one yet. But even so, you can still find legit reviews of actual Maeving motorcycles from other legit motorcycle publications. Additionally, you can find Redditors talking about their own Maeving motorcycle experiences, because one thing you can definitely say for the company is that it does, in fact, make actual EV motorcycles that you or I can throw a leg over and ride.

Even better, they're pretty reasonably priced for what they offer; at least, the first two Maevings have been. And now, it appears that the new Maeving RM2 is about to continue in that vein. What is it? That's easy; it's a Maeving made with a bench seat, so you can take a pillion. It uses the same EV motor found in the RM1S, which is powerful enough to do highways, but it also adds the ability to take a pillion or put a rear rack and top box on the back for enhanced solo riding practicality.

What the Maeving RM2 seems to show is that you don't need a million superfluous bells and whistles if you just get the basics right. It comes with that two-up bench seat, but you can purchase additional accessories (like that rear rack and 30L top box) if you want to add solo storage capabilities. Even better, you can buy the RM2 outfitted with those accessories from the factory, or else you can wait and order them and install them yourself later. You have choices!

The Maeving RM2 is available for preorder in the UK right now (October 16, 2025), and will soon be available for preorder in the US market as well. How soon? Ten days at the time of writing; orders open on October 26, 2025, with plans for deliveries to begin in January 2026.

The RM2 comes with an 8.5L storage box (where the fuel tank would be on a combustion bike) included as standard, along with USB charging, LED lighting, ride modes, and more. Pricing starts at £7,995 in the UK and $10,995 in the US, which seems pretty reasonable for a new little commuter-type EV motorcycle in 2025.

Like the RM1, the RM2 has two removable battery packs that you can choose to charge either on or off the bike. They use standard household cords, so you can charge them practically anywhere and don't have to rely on whether there's adequate EV charging infrastructure in your area. Estimated range by Maeving is about 80 miles, but again; this is a bike that's made for light city hops, not cross-country mile munching. If you're planning to use it for its intended purpose, it seems like a pretty stylish, reasonably priced option.

But what do you think? Would you be pleased to put either your boo or a friend on the back of your RM2 and go for a spin? Let us know in the comments.
