'If you know the rules': Harry Kane delivers verdict on Jude Bellingham disallowed goal in England loss

Harry Kane felt Jude Bellingham's goal against Senegal should have stood as England slumped to defeat in their final international fixture of the season.

The Three Lions took an early lead through Kane but were pegged back five minutes before the break when Ismaila Sarr took advantage of "lazy" defending from Kyle Walker to pounce for the equaliser.

Habib Diarra capitalised on more poor defending to put the visitors ahead just after the hour mark and then substitute Cheick Tidiane Sabaly confirmed an historic win for the west African nation with the clincher in injury time.

Though it could have been a different story.

With England trailing by one goal with five minutes left on the clock, they thought they had earned a draw when Bellingham stabbed the ball home from close range following a corner.

However, the goal was disallowed because Levi Colwill was adjudged to have handled the ball in the build-up.

"If you know the rules it's not handball,” Kane said of the decision when delivering his assessment to ITV afterwards. “That gets us back in the game and maybe we can go on and win the game, so it's a big moment.

“It's something we will discuss later."

Defeat to Senegal was the first time England had lost to an African nation and the result comes hot on the heels of a lacklustre performance in the 1-0 win over Andorra at the weekend.

Despite a less than impressive international window, Kane insists there is no reason to panic.

He added: “We're not going to panic but we know we need to be better. New ideas, there's new players coming into the team that don't have experience at international level.

“It's a mixture of things but no excuses. We need to find it quick, the World Cup is going to come around really fast so every camp is really important right now."
