If you have one of these surnames you could be entitled to one of 247 unclaimed estates in Glasgow

Almost 250 unclaimed estates are up for grabs in Glasgow.

According to a specialist website, Unclaimed Estates, there are currently 247 estates without owners in the city.

Normally, when a person dies their assets revert to a named person but sometimes relatives cannot be traced.

When this happens, the estate is held for 30 years before being transferred to the Treasury.

However, if a relative finds out about the death, they can still claim these estates, despite not knowing them.

The website Unclaimed Estates estimates that there are around 15,000 unclaimed estates across the UK, ranging from just a few pounds and up to the millions.

The full list of estates in Scotland can be found on www.unclaimedestates.scot.

Below is the full list of everyone who has passed away in Glasgow and has had their property passed onto the crown.

New estates are being added all of the time, so it's worth checking even if you've checked before.
