If you're missing McDonald's, here's how you can make the iconic sausage and egg McMuffin at home

Yesterday, Edinburgh Live reported how a rumour was circulating on social media that McDonald's would be reopening after closing down amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The rumour suggested that McDonald's will be making a return on April 6. But unfortunately the rumour turned out to be a load of nonsense. We're sure we'll get Mc D's back one day, but it won't be as soon as Monday.

However, don't worry, as a viral recipe reported by the Daily Mirror shows you how easy it is to make the iconic sausage and egg McMuffin from the comfort of your home.

The recipe was created by a woman on TikTok who made her own DIY sausage and egg McMuffin.

To make her breakfast treat, she uses products from Morrisons, including all butter English muffins, cheese slices, free range eggs and breakfast patties.

The creative cook, known on the site as @TikTorkers, begins by cooking her breakfast patties in a frying pan on the hob, turning them every so often to get both sides nicely browned.

She then slices the muffins in half and puts them under the grill to toast.

The next step is to fry the eggs, which she does in a frying pan ring.

Once everything is ready, she butters the muffin halves, places a cheese slice on top, before loading with two meat patties and an egg.

She captioned the video saying: "DIY McDonalds breakfast. Best u can get in the U.K. atm."

Her post quickly went viral, with over 34,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
