If released, the Steelers must consider Cowboys DT Dontari Poe

It sounds like the Dallas Cowboys are prepping for a fire sale to cut loose many of their veterans and see what they have in terms of young players for the future. According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, one guy the Cowboys are cutting loose the Pittsburgh Steelers need to consider is defensive tackle Dontari Poe.

Don’t misunderstand, I have nothing but the utmost respect for Cam Heyward and Stephon Tuitt. They are one of the best 3-4 tandems in the league. But with Chris Wormley hurt, Pittsburgh can’t afford to sit back and hope guys like Isaiah Buggs and Henry Mondeaux are the answers in terms of depth.

Poe is a massive interior player who just eats up blocks. With inside linebacker Devin Bush out for the year, adding some serious beef in the middle of the Steelers defense makes a lot of send. Poe still has plenty of great football ahead of him and even if he is just a one-season rental, could be worth a look.
