Idris Elba says Meghan and Harry wedding was 'most stressful' and was told songs to play

Meghan Markle allegedly told Idris Elba what songs he should play in his DJ set at her and Prince Harry's wedding.

The Luther star, 49, today claimed the royal sent him a playlist ahead of the function - despite Elba's extensive experience DJing at celebrity parties, including queen of pop Madonna and even collaborated on a track with Sir Paul McCartney.

But the esteemed actor admitted the wedding celebration - on May 19, 2018 at Frogmore House in Windsor, Berkshire - was his "most stressful" DJ gig.

"This wasn’t at the community hall — the reception. This was a big, big deal," Elba, who grew up in London, said.

"Meghan had sent me a playlist, so I knew what she wanted already.

"They’re good friends and I wanted to make sure they had a great time, so there was a lot of pressure."

Elba, who made his name in US crime drama series The Wire, has also performed DJ sets at Ibiza superclubs and huge festivals around the world, reports Mail Online.

But dad-of-two Elba, who is a big Arsenal fan, entertained some global superstars at the royal wedding.

While showbusiness friends, including George Clooney and James Corden, were invited, some of Harry’s oldest friends were left wondering why they hadn’t made the guest list.

Tom Inskip — known by his friends as ‘Skippy’ - did not get an invite. Harry had been best friends with the man for years.

Elba's revelation comes amid claims Meghan and Harry are planning to carry out more "fake royal tours" next year.

Royal commentator Neil Sean has claimed the couple will visit Australia and Japan in 2022, despite critics questioning what their new role has become since breaking away from the Royal Family.

Speaking on his YouTube podcast, the royal expert said: "According to a very good source, Harry and Meghan are planning even more, shall we say, 'fake royal tours' in 2022.

"Apparently they are looking to tour Australia, Japan and back to certain areas of the United States."

Sean suggested that Harry and Meghan are “not that popular right now” and that “maybe they’re hoping to reignite their once popularity in far-flung places.”
