Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre share unseen wedding photos in new shoot

British Vogue/Sean Thomas

Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina Dhowre have shared a series of unseen snaps from their Moroccan wedding ceremony – and the newlyweds couldn’t look more in love.

Posing for British Vogue’s special bridal cover on the day of their nuptials on 26 April, the couple are seen embracing one another in the Marrakech sunshine, having married hours earlier at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel.

For the special day, Elba wore a suit crafted by Savile Row tailor Ozwald Boateng while Dhowre chose a white, one-shoulder A-line gown that was custom-made by legendary bridal designer Vera Wang.

The two met in 2017 in Vancouver, where Elba had been filming the thriller The Mountain Between Us and according to the actor, it was “love at first sight”.

The Luther actor also told the publication that he and Dhowre have been “inseparable” since they met.

“You know, I’m 47 this year, been married and lived a full life before I even met Sabrina,” he added.

“Sabrina has deepened friendships with people I’ve known longer than [her], nurturing the best side of me to make me connect to my friends more.”

Of the wedding itself, Dhowre explained she wanted their guests to “leave remembering the importance of love”.

The couple caused a stir when they attended Prince Harry and MeghanMarkle's wedding in May 2018, which Elba described as "an incredible experience" (British Vogue/Sean Thomas)

“Behind all the glitz and the flowers, that’s what matters,” the 29-year-old former model added.

The wedding is Elba’s third, having previously been married to Hanne Norgaard, with whom he had a daughter, IsanElba, and then to Sonya Nicole Hamlin. Elba also shares a son, Winston Elba, with British makeup artist Naiyana Garth.
