A group of 'idiots' ripped a Christmas tree out of the ground and dumped it in the street in a 'stupid and pointless' act of vandalism.
The community tree was planted in Devonfield Gardens, Walton, before being ripped out on Tuesday, December 14.
A local councillor slammed the vandalism as "really disappointing" and a "stupid" thing to do.

Alan Gibbons, Labour councillor for Warbreck, told the ECHO the councillors heard last night that vandals had ripped out the tree and left it in the street.
He added the tree had only been planted a few days earlier ready for the community to dress it for Christmas on Saturday, December 18.
Cllr Gibbons, 68, said: "We're going to replant it back in its place, hopefully with some way of securing it so it doesn't happen again. There is only a limited amount you can do though.
"It was a focal point for the community in the Christmas celebrations.
"It's really disappointing. It's a lovely community around here and we'll never know who has done it.
"It's just a stupid, pointless thing to do when everybody is looking forward to the Christmas celebrations. But at the end of the day, all you can do is replant and hope there'll be no recurrence."
Cllr Gibbons, who has been in his role since May 2021, added the community would pull together and ensure they still had a Christmas celebration.
He said: "The lovely community overwhelmingly love everything that's being done to keep the place looking bright and festive. Let's all pull together to ensure we don't have any repetition of this nonsense."
Cllr Gibbons posted his disappointment about the tree in the Liverpool Walton Community group, calling it a "damned shame" that services have to spend time securing it.
Other commenters shared his disappointment, with Jennie Randall adding: "It's sad when people ruin things for others."
Dee Coombes said: "That's really disheartening," before adding she hopes "the idiots who did this will improve with age."
Liz Clinch asked: "What have we become?"
