Lorry driver caught on video ploughing through Coolmine level crossing barrier causing massive delays

A lorry driver caused massive delays for Dublin trains this morning after he slammed through a level crossing barrier in Coolmine.

Irish Rail had to suspend rail services heading out west to Maynooth and Sligo after the lorry ploughed through the lowering barrier.

Gardai and engineers attended the scene and made the repairs to get the trains moving again.

Irish Rail tweeted out the video of the halfwit taking the barrier off for all to see after they halted trains across the country just after 9am.

They said: "Maynooth and Sligo line services resumed through Coolmine Level Crossing.

"Delays remain due to damage to level crossing by motorist earlier."

Dublin Live have contacted An Garda Siochana for comment on the incident.
