Idiot crooks steal Deliveroo motorbike from Nando's and lead police to weapon and drugs

Idiot crooks stole a Deliveroo motorbike from outside Nando's before leading police straight to a weapon and drugs stash.

The bike was parked outside the city centre restaurant in Queen Square at around 7.30pm on Tuesday while the rider was inside.

Unfortunately for the thieves the Honda motorcycle was fitted with a tracker and police were able to follow it from Liverpool to Wirral.

It was then found parked up an alleyway near a house on Sycamore Road in Birkenhead.

Police searched the house and garden and arrested a teenager and 22-year-old man on suspicion of theft.

After finding a hammer under the motorbike seat and a bag full of ecstasy tablets inside a barbecue, the pair were further arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Two men have been arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and theft after they reportedly stole a motorcycle from outside Nando’s in Queens Square, Liverpool.

"The Honda motorbike was stolen at around 7:30pm yesterday evening (24 th November) whilst the owner was inside the restaurant.

"Luckily, the bike was fitted with a tracker and so officers were able to follow its journey to a property on Sycamore Road, Wirral.
