A driver has been branded an "idiot" and hit with a ticket for parking on a busy pavement in Liverpool city centre.
City centre councillor Nick Small shared an image this morning of a black BMW car parked fully on the pavement on The Strand near the Liverpool waterfront.
The image shows that the car, which appears to have an international licence plate, has been hit with a parking ticket.

Cllr Small tweeted: "Good to see @lpoolcouncil parking services out in force ticketing idiots like this parking on the pavement on the Strand."
Pavement parking is an increasing problem in Liverpool and the area around the Strand has been a problem for some time.
Cllr Small told the ECHO: "Pavement parking is selfish and causes problems for pedestrians.
"The Strand and other areas around Liverpool One are hotspots for illegal parking.

"My message to drivers is don't be selfish. Park legally or you will be ticketed."
But some believe that tickets are not working as a deterrent for some selfish parkers like this one.
One said: "They don’t pay these fines. I’ve seen this car parked in this same spot for hours on end. At least 20 + times. Needs to be towed."
Another said: "I see cars there everyday. Why don't they install bollards?"
Pavement parking has become a major issue in Liverpool, with people regularly taking to social media to share images of cars parked on pedestrian areas, blocking routes for people and making it especially hard for anyone in a wheelchair or with a pram to get past.
