‌IDF Strikes Hezbollah Bases In Southern Lebanon, Amid Growing Regional Turmoil‌

Israel Defense Forces jets struck Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon on Tuesday as escalations continue on the Jewish state’s northern border.

“Fighter jets recently attacked a number of terrorist infrastructures of the Hezbollah organization in Lebanon. In addition, an IDF tank attacked a terror squad that tried to launch anti-tank missiles from Lebanese territory towards the Yiftah area,” the military said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Lebanese terrorists launched anti-tank missiles and mortar shells at military outposts throughout Israel’s upper and western Galilee regions, activating air-raid sirens in Moshav Margaliot, Moshav Shomera, Kibbutz Yiftah, Arab al-Aramshe and Mattat.

IDF forces attacked the sources of the fire in Lebanon.

Also on Tuesday, IDF air defenses intercepted a “suspicious target” off the coast of Akko. No sirens sounded in the northern city as the target was not deemed a threat to the population.

On Monday night, rocket launches were identified from Lebanon toward an IDF post in the area of Kibbutz Malkia in northern Israel. Israel’s aerial defense array intercepted one rocket and the others fell in open areas, according to the military.

IDF fighter jets struck Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure, including operational command centers, in response to the launches.

It was cleared for publication that the two people hit on Monday by an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon towards the area of Moshav Netua, an agricultural community near the border, were IDF soldiers who were seriously wounded.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah has been initiating a series of exchanges with Israeli forces in recent weeks as the Jewish state fights Hamas terrorists to the south.

Since Oct. 7, two civilians and seven IDF soldiers have been killed in attacks on Israel’s northern border. Many more have been wounded.

During a visit to the Israel Defense Forces’ Desert Reconnaissance Battalion on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hezbollah is playing with fire.

“In these exchanges of fire in the north, there is someone who thinks he can expand the attacks against our forces and our civilians,” said Netanyahu, in an apparent reference to Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.

“Fire will be met by much stronger fire. They should not try us because we have shown only a little of our might. Any attack against us—we will attack those who attack us,” threatened the premier.

On Saturday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that Hezbollah is “close to making a grave mistake” that will result in the residents of Beirut suffering the consequences.

“I am telling the citizens of Lebanon: The residents of Gaza are already walking with white flags and moving south. Hezbollah is dragging Lebanon into a possible war, and it is close to making a grave mistake,” said Gallant.

“The ones who will pay the price are the Lebanese people. What we are doing in Gaza we know how to do in Beirut,” added the minister.
