Chad Daybell, the husband of Idaho mom Lori Vallow, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, hours after police executed a search warrant at his Idaho home as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Vallow's children.
Daybell was stopped by police and arrested about a mile from his house.
Fremont County Sheriff deputies, Rexburg Police officers and the FBI arrived at Daybell's house at around 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to East Idaho News, but it's unclear exactly what they were looking for.
Human remains were found on Daybell's property during the search, according to Fox 10, but police have not confirmed the findings.
In early January, officials removed 43 items, including computers, cellphones, journals and medications, from Daybell's house during the first search.
Daybell and Vallow were married in Hawaii on Nov. 5, just two weeks after Daybell's wife was found dead at home. Authorities have since exhumed her body and ruled her death suspicious; the autopsy is still pending.
Vallow is behind bars at the Madison County Jail on a $1 million bail, charged with two felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, and one misdemeanor count of resisting and obstructing an officer, and solicitation of a crime and contempt. Her children, 8-year-old JJ and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, have been missing since September.
Vallow's most recent husband before Daybell, Charles Vallow, was shot to death by her brother in Arizona in July, months after he filed for divorce from her and accused her of becoming "infatuated" with near-death experiences and spiritual visions. Her brother, Alex Cox, died in December.
Rumors of death cults have circled Vallow and Daybell as the investigation into her children continues and draws in more suspicious deaths.
Vallow has steadfastly refused to provide any information on the whereabouts of JJ and Tylee.
Daybell has not faced charges in their disappearance.
