India's very own bridal couture show, the FDCI India Couture Week 2022 is turning out to be one interesting affair with the perfect marriage of modern and old trends, showcased in a rather artistic environ every night. Popular designer Anju Modi took to centrestage on Wednesday evening as she showcased her love for textiles and the Indian craft with a timeless collection.
Called "The Road less travelled,” the collection encompassed the designer's learnings and experiences through various walks around the world. It was a conversation the designer had with her soul, while taking a stroll through beautiful valleys and the mightiest of mountains. The collection spoke of how taking the longest routes and crossing glimmering rivers, can lead to a wave of change in our very being.
Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari stopped the show for Modi, looking resplendent in dull gold lehenga.
“Travel far enough, you'll meet yourself” - David Mitchell, Modi made this quote the base of her collection.
A thinker and philosopher, Anju Modi finds her inspiration through nuanced elements of architecture, poetry, mythology and literature. Each ensemble is a celebration of India’s cultural history and a tribute to modern feminism. Anju Modi has been an integral part of the Indian Fashion industry, playing a vital role in the revival of traditional crafts and textiles. Long forgotten age- old techniques have been revived, where the designer has created an extensive library of research and development techniques for weaving, vegetable dyeing, block printing and traditional embroidery.
