Iconic Glasgow pub Lauders attacked by vandals who later 'posed for selfies'

Police are hunting for vandals who smashed a window at iconic Sauchiehall Street pub Lauders.

The shocking incident occurred in the early hours of this morning.

The vandals are reported to have thrown bricks at the window of the much-loved city centre pub - which dates back to 1836 - and later taken selfies.

Lauders took to social media to report news of the damage, via a post which read: "In the early hours of this morning two kind souls decided to repeatedly throw bricks at our window. It looks like they were filming the incident as it was occurring.

"Any information would be greatly appreciated, please send us a message if you know anything.

"We also appreciated the posing for taking selfies right in front of our cameras."

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We received a report of a vandalism at a premises on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, in the early hours of Wednesday, 3 February, 2021.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
