Iconic Dublin shop Knobs & Knockers is moving from its city centre location

It's titillated Dubliners for generations due to its risque name but sadly the iconic Knobs & Knockers will soon be moving out of the city.

The shop has been based on Nassau Street for 47 years but it has been confirmed that the business will be moving to Dun Laoghaire next month.

Dublin Chamber Head of Communications Graeme McQueen described the relocation as an "end of an era".

He said: "Sad news... Knobs & Knockers is indeed closing down. Moving to Dun Laoghaire after 47 years on Nassau Street. End of an era."

The store's hilarious name has attracted plenty of attention over the years, with a range of Knobs & Knockers t-shirts being available at the shop.

Just last month, Fleetwood Mac guitarist Mike Campbell chose the store as the perfect place to pose for a snap before the band's RDS show.

He shared the picture on his Instagram page, adding: "And rockers too, from the streets of Dublin straight to you!"

Unfortunately visiting celebs will have to find another hilariously named Dublin spot to pose for pictures at from next month.
