An iconic high street brand looks set to close their shop at the White Rose Shopping Centre.
The Disney Store is expected to shut at the White Rose as part of the company’s project shifting towards online sales. It is thought Disney will close all of their UK stores apart from the flagship Oxford Street shop.
This follows news of Disney store closures at Sheffield’s Meadowhall and York.

We’ve approached Disney for comment on the expected Leeds closure. They’d previously issued a statement to announce the Sheffield shop shutting down.
"While consumer behaviour has shifted toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” said Stephanie Young, president, consumer products games and publishing.
"Over the past few years, we’ve been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world.

"We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises."
A petition has been set up to try saving the presence of the Disney Store on UK high streets.
“The stores will all be closed by September 2021.
“This means all of the magical Disney stores that have been on our high streets for many years will soon disappear.
“Not everyone is fortunate enough to live near the Oxford Street store and the UK doesn’t have its own Disney park, the closest being Disneyland Paris which is not even in our country.
“These stores are our gateway to the magical world of Disney.”
The team at the White Rose weren’t able to comment on the expected Disney Store and closure and we’ve yet to hear back from Mickey Mouse’s representatives.
