Iconic Clifton barbershop with ‘charming’ two-bed maisonette and basement up for sale

This “Edwardian style Barbers shop” situated in Clifton is set to be auctioned online next month. The “wedge shape” property “exudes historic character and has for generations been an iconic destination for discerning gentlemen seeking a good haircut,” according to its Hollis Morgon listing.

The property boasts three floors with “a very charming maisonette” offering “spacious and elegant accommodation” as well as a basement. Andrew Morgan MBE auctioneer said: “I am delighted to be offering this property in our December Auction. For decades this has been an iconic destination for gentlemen seeking, not only, a professional haircut, but also enjoying the ambience of a traditional Edwardian style Barbers shop.

“Surrounded by a fascinating collection of antiques it is no wonder that the plethora of loyal customers have basked in the luxurious comfort of the traditional chairs, laughed at the brilliant repartee of the owner, relaxed in re-assuring comfort of a past age and at the end of it all emerged a new smart man with a stylish haircut! Due to retirement, this unique establishment is scheduled to close at Christmas and a new era will begin.

“This property provides the opportunity to work and “live over the shop”, as an investment, or even to convert into a house subject to any necessary consents. Offered for sale with vacant possession the property overlooks the tree-lined green of Park Place and is within a few hundred yards of busy Queens Road and the university I expect keen bidding for this highly desirable property.”
