Iconic Batmobiles are coming to Nottinghamshire for launch of new Batman film

Batman's iconic cars will be 'vrooming' into Nottinghamshire to celebrate the release of the new movie.

The Batmobile from the 1989 Batman film starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson will be at Hucknall's Arc Cinema, while the Dark Knight Trilogy's Tumbler will be at the Beeston cinema on March 4 when The Batman starring Robert Pattinson hits the big screen.

Last November Ghostbusters' famous Ecto-1 caused a stir with fans when it made a special appearance.

Cinema spokesman Mark Gallagher said: "We started organising our Batman event way back the night we had the Ecto-1 outside for Ghostbusters. It was such an amazing evening I started thinking about upcoming films with iconic cars attached to them we could replicate the event, I actually asked the owner of the Ecto-1 that night if he knew anyone with a Batmobile and he knew someone that owned all of them.

"We asked on our Facebook pages which Batmobile they would have preferred; the 1966 Adam West one, the 1989 Tim Burton one, the 1995 Batman Forever one, the Dark Knight trilogy Tumbler one or the Ben Affleck ‘Batman v Superman’ one."

Special fan event tickets will go on sale on February 11 and for an extra £6 on top of the standard admission price they will get a professionally taken photograph with the car, exclusive souvenir poster and postcards, and entry into a prize draw to to win official Warner Bros. merchandise.

The film has yet to be rated in the UK but Mr Gallagher said it looks likely to receive a 15 certificate, so Bat fans must be 15 year or over.

However, youngsters too young to see the film can still have a family photo for £3, plus they'll receive a souvenir poster and cone of popcorn.

The money will go towards the cost of the car hire and anything extra will go to a local charity.
