Iconic Ayrshire cafe closes in massive blow to town as owners thank customers

An iconic Ayrshire dessert parlour has pulled its shutters down for the final time.

Costley's Patisserie & Chocolatier, a cafe in Prestwick, has closed in a huge blow to the town.

The popular eaterie swung open its doors every day for nine years on Main Street and today bosses announced that a new store will be opening in Kirkoswald instead.

Owners posted on Facebook said: "Costley's Patisserie & Chocolatier/Coffee Shop in Prestwick has now sadly closed.

"We would like to thank our loyal customers for their fantastic support they have given us in our nine years of trading on Prestwick Main Street.

"Many have become friends and we hope to see you again at our Costley Venues throughout Ayrshire, where you can still enjoy our home baking!

"We will be continuing to produce our luscious ice cream, fabulous breads & pastries and heavenly, hand-made chocolates at our unit in Kirkoswald.

"All lovingly produced in-house by Costleys, in Ayrshire!

"The Shop at Kirkoswald will be opening soon. Please look out for further announcements on our social media!"
